Belle Portwe is a Commercial, Fine Art, Portrait & Wedding STUDIO based in the beautiful island of St Lucia. Our work has been described as professional, edgy, glamorous and very editorial. Our unique Creole brand name “ BELLE PORTWE ” ( meaning beautiful picture in Creole ) is one which is highly commended on and loved by our clients. As a well established STUDIO, we are now pushing the marketing trend of our photography name to be recognized and known as a photography brand.

My work is who I am. It is an amazing feeling to capture people, nature, feelings and one's surroundings into a single frame, which then tells a story of imagination, expression and life. It is my wish to share these visions with others through my photography, and to be able to showcase my talents to a wider audience.




COVID-19 BUSINESS UPDATES

I understand the high concern of Covid-19 and how much the pandemic has effected our lives. Special events have been cancelled, time with loved ones taken away and the question of income has disrupted our lives deeply. The health of my clients, their families, my own family & my personal health, are a priority. As the province of Ontario slowly opens, I promise my clients I will hold health and safety to the highest regard. I believe each of us play an important part in preventing the spread of Covid-19. Below I will keep an updated list my steps during each re-opening phase in Ontario and my guidelines to keep everyone safe on your session date

General Tips

  • Tell us your intentions and what kind of look you want.

  • Tell us how and where the photo will be used so we can guide you accordingly.

  • Drink lots of water and be well rested to avoid dark circles under eyes.

  • Please call if you are running late or arriving early (we may have other clients scheduled before you)

What to Wear - Everyone

  • Wear clothes that are comfortable and makes you look great.

  • Make sure your jacket and shirt fit you well. A poor fitting jacket or shirt will be obvious in the photos

  • Turtlenecks are almost always a bad idea (since they crowd the face).

  • Clothes should be neatly pressed and should look new or like new.

  • Avoid busy patterns and large lines/stripes.

  • Blue/green/turquoise shirts/blouses or accents can help emphasize blue/green/hazel eyes

What to Wear - Women

  • Avoid big prints and busy patterns

  • Different necklines will change the apparent shape of your face.

  • For a no-jacket casual look, bring various colored blouses - ideally darker/lighter than your skin tone

  • Be stylish, fashionable and comfortable.

  • Sleeveless tops/dresses can draw attention to your shoulders/arms.

Jewelry

  • Keep jewelry extremely simple - small is better

  • Avoid jewelry that would distract from your face or that looks dated

  • The picture is about your face, not your jewelry.

  • Consider if multiple face/ear piercings are appropriate for where your photo will be displayed
